Before joining TeamTank I was very unhappy with my body. I would lie and kid on to myself that I wasn’t that bad but still hid my body away and would cover myself up with baggy clothes. For years, I would push this feeling down and continue to make the problem worse with poor nutritional choices and doing zero exercise. Lockdown was hard for everyone and during 2020 and into 2021, I found myself eating sometimes 2 takeaways a week. My confidence was at an all-time low and my mental wellbeing suffered hugely because of this.

I saw a couple of posts on Instagram from girls I knew that had made huge changes following Martin’s coaching. This sparked motivation to get in touch with Martin to change my life around and break this miserable cycle I found myself in. For a person with little confidence, it wasn’t easy for me to message Martin. However, in my first message I started by saying, ‘I’m all in!’ and I laid everything out to him and was completely honest with my feelings and what I wanted to achieve in this journey.
I knew this journey would not be easy and I would need to be 100% accountable to achieve my goals. When joining the team, Martin explained everything so well and clear about ticking the boxes (nutrition, training and lifestyle) and that I needed to hit these to see results. For a girl who had not much knowledge about nutrition it was explained very well. I am now organised and plan my meals for tracking.

When I first joined, I was in process of moving to a new house, so for the first 3-4 weeks we solely focussed on nutrition and getting my steps in. I didn’t think I would lose much but by trusting the process I could see the lbs starting to fall off. This lit a fire in my belly for starting my training and to take it to the next level. I had also never really set a foot inside of a gym before starting TT so it was daunting when I first went. This is when I got to know Cory who was a client success coach in TT. Cory was incredible in taking me through my programmes and helping me to perfect my technique. Cory would also be there in case I had any questions and like Martin he would also check in once a week to see how I was getting on. Thank you for everything Cory!

It has not been an easy journey for me personally as I am still commuting for work to Edinburgh 5 days a week and throughout this process my gran was hospitalised for 4 months of it and she sadly passed away on Christmas Eve. This was one of the worst moments of my life and I truly believe the gym at this time saved me from falling into depression. I am extremely proud of myself and know that through dedication, commitment and being accountable I have smashed lots of goals, including my weight, measurements, strength and I am also now into running 5k which I thought would never be a possibility for a girl that couldn’t run the length of herself before.

This would not have been possible without the support of my fiancé, David who encouraged me to join and supported all changes including meals. David now joins me at the gym and is loving the lifestyle change too. I would like to thank my family who supported me 100% in this process and showed me nothing but love. Finally, I would like to thank Martin and everyone in the TT group for their continued support and motivation. This experience has been lifechanging and if you’re going back and forth with the idea of joining then DON’T. Get in touch to join the best team, you won’t regret it!
