I have known Martin for over 10 years and have attended his boot camp and boxing classes for a good few years now. However, over the past 10 weeks, I have been coached online by Martin as part of TeamTank and can honestly say it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Back in January, I began my online coaching with Martin, with the goal of finally getting married at the beginning of April (our 3rd rescheduled wedding date due to Covid). I began my programme being extremely focused and determined to get in the best shape possible for my big day. However, fast forward 5 weeks, my fiancé and I made the decision to postpone our wedding for the final time to July this year. As I was already more than half way through my programme, I decided to stick it out and had even more determination to achieve what I had first set out to do.

I have always enjoyed keeping fit and before lockdown regularly played netball and attended boxing and boot camp classes. Going to the gym and lifting weights was something I dabbled in but never really took seriously. This was something I had to do at home now and did find difficult for the first week, but after a serious talk with myself, I sucked it up and definitely have the bug for lifting heavy weights now!

Although this has been my goal, I couldn’t have done it without the support of my fiancé Scott and the other TeamTankers, especially my best friend Roisin who is also a determined bride-to-be. Having people who encourage you and support your goals, I feel, is essential to making progress and I know I wouldn’t have done as well if I didn’t have them both. From 6am walks in the snow to get our steps in, to weighing out and prepping meals. I really am so grateful for the support I have received throughout this.

But the greatest support has been from Martin. Martin has been on hand to offer help and advice every step of the way. The community he has created with the TeamTankers is evolving every day and has the most amazing group of people, all supporting each other to achieve their goals. It really is a safe place to ask for help, share what’s going well, clarify any questions or get the most delicious meal inspiration.
If anyone is thinking of making a change, my advice would be to DO IT! If you want it bad enough, you will achieve it. It will take a lot of hard work, determination, preparation, early mornings and tired workouts.

But it will all be worth it and Martin is the man to help you get there.

I am so proud of what I have achieved over the past 10 weeks and can’t wait until I finally get to wear my wedding dress with confidence in July. I am excited to see the progress I will continue to make from now until July as I implement new habits and lead a healthier lifestyle.
